Soaring Spirits' long-running gathering for widowed people, deliberately branded a camp: name tags, camperships, mixers, and a reunion feel layered over workshops and research-informed grief programming. It runs in hotels rather than cabins, blending conference, retreat, and camp culture. Multiple 2026 editions across the US and Canada, including a first LGBTQ+ camp in NYC.

The experience

The format: weekend hotel-based camp-conference hybrid, recurring. Two or three nights, all logistics handled. If you've never done an adult camp, this length is the on-ramp. It's adults only: no kids programming, no family sessions mixed in.

Cost

Published price: a few hundred USD/CAD registration; lodging separate; camperships available. There's no simple rate card, so ignore any number you see on a third-party site and ask the operator. For calibration: most all-inclusive adult camp weekends in North America run $400 to $1,000.
