Our test has three parts. You sleep on site, in a cabin or a dorm, for at least a couple of nights. Someone else plans your days: archery, talent shows, ropes courses, band rehearsal. And the camp culture is the product, aimed at adults on purpose. That rules out wellness retreats, festivals, and hotels with canoes. Camps that used to run stay listed and clearly marked, because "is that camp still open?" deserves a straight answer.

The Shark Tank-famous brand that turned adult summer camp into a category, Camp No Counselors runs three-night, all-inclusive weekends at rented kids' camps in New York, California, and Texas.

Club Getaway (Camp Getaway adult weekends)
The granddaddy of the format: a 300-acre permanent camp resort in Connecticut's Berkshire foothills that has run programmed adult weekends since the 1970s, later starring in Bravo's Camp Getaway.

Camp Social
NYC social-events creator Liv Schreiber spun her Hot and Social community into the self-described #1 adult summer camp for women: roughly 400 campers per weekend at a lakeside camp in Equinunk, Pennsylvania, 2.5 hours from NYC. Tickets have sold out in as little as 10 minutes against a waitlist reported in the tens of thousands, and the pitch is that 99% arrive solo and leave with friends.

Adult Space Academy (Space Camp for Adults)
The most famous themed camp in America runs a grown-ups-only version: Adult Space Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville packs astronaut training simulators, the multi-axis trainer, and a simulated shuttle mission into a three-day weekend with meals and habitat lodging included.
