Camp Copperhead is what an online community looks like with bunk beds. It's run by Steve Earle (recording artist / touring musician), whose audience is Grammy-winning artist with national touring audience. The bunks fill from that community, so nobody shows up cold.
Steve Earle's Catskills songwriting camp put fans in cabins at Full Moon Resort for days of craft classes, co-writes, and campfire performances with Earle and guests like Shawn Colvin. It ran annually from 2015 through 2022, but organizers have since posted that they can't find a venue that works logistically or economically, leaving the camp on indefinite hiatus.
The experience
The format: multi-day sleepaway, annual. The longer run is the point. By day three the group stops being strangers, and that's the part people come back for. Adults only, which changes the tone more than you might expect. Everyone there chose it for themselves.
Cost
When it last ran, tickets were was a packaged room-and-board camp; pricing varied by lodging. There's no simple rate card, so ignore any number you see on a third-party site and ask the operator. For calibration: most all-inclusive adult camp weekends in North America run $400 to $1,000.
