Interlochen Adult Camps runs a longer, multi-night stay in Michigan. We file it under music. It's in this directory because it's a real camp, with bunks and a schedule and the whole apparatus, built for adults on purpose.
Interlochen's College of Creative Arts runs adult versions of its famous arts camp, including a chamber music week and a choir week on the same northern Michigan campus the kids use. Days are structured with rehearsals, sectionals, and coaching, ending in performance. A rare chance to be a full-time music camper as a grown-up at a world-class institution.
The experience
The format: week-long residential camp on the Interlochen campus. The longer run is the point. By day three the group stops being strangers, and that's the part people come back for. Adults only, which changes the tone more than you might expect. Everyone there chose it for themselves.
Cost
Published price: tuition plus campus lodging, roughly $1,000-2,000 USD. That's above the usual $400 to $1,000 weekend band. The premium generally buys longer sessions, real instruction, or a name on the ticket. Check what the ticket covers before comparing camps. Whether lodging, meals, and transport are bundled moves the true cost more than the ticket price does.
