Jacques 'The Party Scientist' Martiquet, a former festival medic who built a following throwing sober raves, runs JoyCamp as a substance-free weekend camp in the North Carolina mountains. Days are stacked with games, nature, dance parties, and campfire singing under a strict no-phones, no-booze, no-egos rule. At $150-300 it's one of the cheapest tickets in the adult-camp space.

The experience

The format: weekend sleepaway (Fri-Sun). The weekend length keeps the ask small. Arrive Friday, hand your schedule to someone else, be home by Monday. Adults only, which changes the tone more than you might expect. Everyone there chose it for themselves.

Cost

Published price: $150-300. That's the cheap end of the market, where most all-inclusive weekends run $400 to $1,000. Cheap here usually means volunteers or subsidy, not corner-cutting.
