Camp GLP (Good Life Project)

Camp GLP is run by Jonathan Fields, Good Life Project, top-ranked personal development podcast. The format is a weekend sleepaway in New York, and the ticket is really a pass into the community. The archery is set dressing.

Podcaster Jonathan Fields took over a Catskills-area kids' sleepaway camp each August for five years, hosting 425 listeners of his Good Life Project podcast for keynotes, campfires, color wars, and workshops on meaningful work and wellbeing. It was an early proof that a podcast audience would pay to live inside the show's ethos for a weekend. The final edition ran in 2018.

The experience

The format: 4-day weekend sleepaway at a kids' camp, ~425 campers. A short sleepaway is the easiest first camp: long enough to drop your guard, short enough to gamble on. Campers are adults only.

Cost

When it last ran, tickets were ~$600-1,000 USD (historical). That's the going rate. Most all-inclusive camp weekends in North America land between $400 and $1,000. Check what the ticket covers before comparing camps. Whether lodging, meals, and transport are bundled moves the true cost more than the ticket price does.
