Dungeons & Cabins
ActiveGeek, Gaming & Fandom
Is Dungeons & Cabins still open? Yes.
Dungeons & Cabins is active as of 2026. Current schedule per the operator: late Aug-Sept; all three 2025 weekends sold out, 2026 waitlist open. Sessions have been selling out or running waitlists, so book early rather than waiting for a deal.
Dungeons & Cabins is a purpose-built adult camp in the geek, gaming & fandom lane, based in California. This is not a retreat center with a camp theme bolted on; the format is a weekend-length sleepaway with programmed activities, communal meals, and the deliberate structure of a real summer camp, aimed squarely at grown-ups.
Founded by professional dungeon master and game designer Sammy Glicker, Dungeons & Cabins books out a SoCal forest camp ('Paladin's Retreat') for weekends of interconnected multi-table D&D campaigns, where one table's choices ripple into another's. Between sessions campers do archery and crafts like any good summer camp. Now in its third year, all three 2025 weekends sold out.

The experience
Practical picture: the format is weekend sleepaway, multiple sessions per season. A short sleepaway is the most forgiving on-ramp into camp life, and this one follows that playbook: a couple of nights in, all logistics handled. This is an adults-only environment: no kids programming, no family sessions mixed in.
Cost
Published pricing: not published on main page. The operator does not publish a simple rate card, so treat any number you see on third-party sites as a guess and confirm directly. As a rule of thumb for this category, all-inclusive adult camp weekends in North America cluster between $400 and $1,000 once lodging and meals are counted.
Where and when
The venue is in San Bernardino National Forest, California. Season and dates, as best we can verify: late Aug-Sept; all three 2025 weekends sold out, 2026 waitlist open.
