Wet Hot Bad Magic Summer Camp is a fan camp. Dan Cummins and Lynze Cummins (podcast) built the audience first (Timesuck and Scared to Death, major comedy/true-crime podcasts (Bad Magic Productions)), then rented a camp for it. That order matters: everyone arrives already sharing the in-jokes, so the weekend skips the small talk that regular camps spend a day burning through.

Comedian-podcaster Dan Cummins (Timesuck, Scared to Death) and co-host Lynze run a full sleepaway camp for their 'Cult of the Curious' fanbase at a Pennsylvania camp property. The ticket covers cabins, meals, daily bar service, live shows including a Scared to Death performance, and daily meet-and-greets, plus archery, tubing, karaoke, and a ninja warrior course. It has run every September since 2023.

The experience

The format: 4-day / 3-night sleepaway, annual. Two or three nights, all logistics handled. If you've never done an adult camp, this length is the on-ramp. It's adults only: no kids programming, no family sessions mixed in.

Cost

Published price: $1,300 USD base (upgrades $900-$3,500). That's above the usual $400 to $1,000 weekend band. The premium generally buys longer sessions, real instruction, or a name on the ticket. Check what the ticket covers before comparing camps. Whether lodging, meals, and transport are bundled moves the true cost more than the ticket price does.
